Legitimacy of Secret Power

General Overview

The Legitimacy of Secret Power (LSP) scale measures individuals’ appraisals of criminal governance. It was developed in English and translated into Italian and Japanese. Details on its development are available in Travaglino et al. (2024)

The scale comprises twenty items (a shorter version of ten items is also available). The tables below displays the items in different languages.

Adapting the Measure to Different Contexts

Note that the measure can be adapted to specific groups by altering the instructions or using a specific label for each item (e.g., organised crime instead of criminal groups, or “mafia”).
